Dr. Merrill Magnolia is bathed in stunning fragrant double white flowers, blushed with pink with yellow eyes at the ends of the branches in mid-spring before the leaves. It has dark green foliage throughout the season. The pointy leaves turn coppery bronze in fall. The fruits are pink pods displayed from early to mid-Fall. Dr. Merrill Magnolia is a wonderful hybrid magnolia selection, known for its early spring bloom in froths of fragrant white flowers and picturesque habit of growth. This tree is fast-growing, very hardy, and flowers from a young age.
Where to put it:
Dr. Merrill Magnolia is an excellent feature accent tree. Because of its smaller size and shrub-like form, Dr. Merrill Magnolia is commonly used in the front or back landscape to provide accent or anchoring, or around a deck or patio to provide screening. This tree should be planted at least 10ft away from buildings. This is a clump tree, so keep in mind that it will block the view of anything you put it in front of.
